William Lacon CHILDE of Kinlet and Kyre in the county of Worcester M.P. for Wenlock from 1820 - 1826 Born January 3rd 1786, died December 12th 1880 age 95, and Harriet his wife, 2nd daughter of William CLUDDE, of Orleton, born 1786, married 1807, died 1849 and their children William Lacon CHILDE, born 1810, died October 1881 having married 1839, Barbara daughter of T GIFFARD of Chivington and had two sons who died young, Jonathon, Capt in the 12th Lancers, born 1811, died April 1862 Baldwyn died 1818, age 4 years, Lucy died 1865 age 9 years
From The Leeds Mercury, 16th December 1880:
"Educated at Harrow where he was the fellow of the late Lord Palmerston, Sir Robert Peel, Lord Byron, and the late Duke of Sutherland. He afteerwards entered Christ Church Oxford. He sat in the House of Commons, in the Conservative interest, as a member for Wenlock, in the first Parliament of George IV, he moved the address in reply to the King's Speech, in Febrauary, 1823. Mr Childe was the magistrate and Deputy Lieutenant for the counties of Worcester and Salop, and served as High Sheriff of the latter county in 1859; he was also a magistrate of the county of Hereford."
