• Notes

  Nb there are two Thomas Goswell in Midgham, both married to a Hannah. It seems unlikely that they are thesame person. The 1841 census has this Thomas as a wheelwright and Mary Goswell, aged 35, is staying with he and his wife. A Thomas Goswell of Midgham, a master wheelwright, took on William Evans as an apprentice on 27th February, 1796 The death duty register shows he was living in Midgham when his brother Samuel died in 1832. He was the executor. In the 1851 census is described as a carpenter, a widower, aged 84. He apparently takes out a mortgage of land in Midgham in 1837 (Berkshire Record office D/EX 394/1 ) Buried on 13 Feb 1855 at St Matthew, Midgham
